Phoenix Zoo

Our kids school was out for the whole week of Thanksgiving, which I think is awesome, so we planned a day to go to the Zoo with Julie and her kids. We started at Sting Ray Bay. Liam had been begging to go back ever since his field trip, and that made Ryleigh excited to go as well. They were having a public feeding when we got there so we bought a couple cups of food for the kids to feed them, another thing Liam had been begging to do ever since his field trip. Well, the first piece Liam tried to feed to the Sting Rays he came up crying and was sure that he had been bitten by the Sting Ray. I, of course, laughed at him and walked him over to one of the workers who assured him they don't bite and in fact they don't even have teeth. She told him he was probably just holding on to the food to tight and so the Sting Ray had to suck extra hard to get it out of his hand. Either way, he was done after that! No more feeding Sting Rays for him!

Gavin, Ryleigh and half of Gunner at Sting Ray Bay

The day started a little rough for this little girl, I don't know if it was all too much for her or she was just being moody but she wanted her binky!

And this is what happened when you took it from her.
So guess what? She got her binky!

The boys soaked after the Sting Rays.
Gunner had already changed but not the other two.

Meg thought she was so big eating her lunch at the picnic table.

Here is the rest of the bunch after eating their lunches.
Griffin, Ryleigh, Liam, Gunner, and Gavin

This was a new exhibit and the kids all thought it was pretty cool.
There were 2 Komodo Dragons.
1 Male and 1 Female.
This is the Male, he is bigger than the other one.

Meg watching the Komodo Dragons.

"Wait don't leave me, I'm coming!"

Can you see the Dragon? He walked right up to where our kids were all standing and looked them straight in the eye. Probably thinking "lunch!"
Which by the way, we learned they can eat humans! Yikes!

Here's our happy girl! She showed up about half way through!

She loved the Orangutan's!

Another favorite spot, especially for Meg, was Monkey Village

We ended the day with snow cones! Griffin was so good to share!
